Global Day of Action to Cut Conflict Palm Oil – May 20

May 12, 2014

Rainforest Action Network

If you’ve been following RAN on Facebook or Twitter, you’ve heard us talk a lot about our upcoming Global Day of Action to Cut Conflict Palm Oil. And there’s a good reasonthat’s because it is going to be HUGE because of you.

We’ve been talking with activists, building tools, holding conference calls and more, all with one focus: On May 20th, thousands of RAN activists around the world will stand up with one voice to demand that PepsiCo eliminate Conflict Palm Oil from its products. We know that you won’t tolerate deforestation and human rights abuses in your food, and we want to make it as easy as possible for you to take action with activists around the world on May 20th.

As long as the message "PepsiCo, the power is #InYourPalm" shows up in some way, shape or form in your photo action, you can do whatever inspires you most. Whether it’s big or small, in a park, on a college campus, in your home, at a local landmark or a Pepsi branded location in your town, let’s get the message out there. Once you take a photo of your action, upload your image to Rainforest Action Network’s Smug Mug gallery and post it to Pepsi’s Facebook wall with this message: #PepsiCo, cut Conflict Palm Oil. The power is #InYourPalm.

So take a look at our map. Here’s where you can find events from everywhere in the world, you can sign up to host your own photo action, and find links to creative resources for kids like orangutan masks and coloring pages.

Because May 20th is so close, this is our last call to host a photo action in your town. If you’ve been on the fence about hosting, please consider all the good you can do in the world by helping eliminate Conflict Palm Oil. I hope you’ll join us – so much so that I made a video on how powerful yet simple hosting a photo action can be.

For the forests and future generations,
